C Band – Uplinking and Downlinking
Among the four renowned frequency bands, C-Band is considered as the most genuine frequency installations for communication satellites. The C band uplink is primarily operated for voice and data communications. The term ‘Uplink’ associated with it because the signals are sent up from the ground to the satellite. These signals are then telecast down over the footprint area in a process called ‘Downlink’. C-band uses 3.7-4.2 GHz and 5.925-6.425 GHz of frequency bands for downlinking and uplinking respectively.
