Learn More About Wholesale Voice Termination

There was once a time when there was only one service provider in a country, for telephones, which meant that all calls originated from one provider and the person receiving the call would also be on the same network. With the emergence of mobile phones, more and more service providers started appearing on the scene. But with that also emerged a new issue – how would all the networks get connected to each other.

The answer lies in wholesale voice termination – using which calls originating with one service provider can easily be relayed to another with ease. There are a variety of voice terminations methodologies existent today and one of them, which also happens to be an extremely popular one, is VoIP call termination. Using this, any call can be transferred using the internet.

There are a few service providers who are able to transmit information using the Hotbird group of satellites. While these satellites are most commonly used for television and radio channels, there are a few interactive as well as IP services that are relayed using the same. Today, this group of satellites is owned and operated by Eutelsat, which is a French company. Almost all of Europe, major parts of the Middle East, Africa and India are covered by these satellites.

So, the next time you sit down to make an internet call, enjoy your favourite television show or play a game on your television set, think about how it all works!
